A Stratford man facing a charge of break, enter and commit a sexual assault will remain in custody until his case is dealt with in the courts.
Gregory William Lunn, 32, appeared before a justice of the peace Thursday in Charlottetown for a show cause hearing to determine if he would be held in custody.
After hearing submissions, justice of the peace Gerard Mitchell said he was satisfied the Crown showed Lunn’s continued detention was justified.
Last week the RCMP arrested Lunn after investigating an alleged home invasion and sexual assault.

He has been in custody since his arrest and has yet to enter a plea on the matter.
During the show cause hearing, the court heard Lunn was on parole after he was sentenced last year to two years less a day in jail for dangerous driving causing death.
The court heard that parole has been revoked and will be reviewed in September.
In ordering Lunn to remain in custody, Mitchell said the alleged offence was very serious and high-end.
He also said Lunn is potentially facing a lengthy prison term if convicted.
Lunn’s next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 20.
