Hockey’s home this weekend is in Charlottetown.
Rogers Hometown Hockey returns to the capital city Saturday and Sunday, and Islanders from tip to tip are invited to participate in the events.
The festival features live entertainment, local celebrities, prize giveaways, NHL alumni and a several free activities for the whole family.
Events include an outdoor viewing party of an NHL game between the Vancouver Canucks and the Detroit Red Wings, which will be broadcast nationally on Sportsnet and hosted live from Charlottetown by Ron MacLean and Tara Slone.
Activities take place at Queen’s Wharf by the Delta Prince Edward from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday.
Hometown Hockey features the interactive Rogers Fan Hub with NHL alumni; the GamePlus desk for Rogers customers; the Sportsnet Augmented Reality Photo Booth; the Hockey Circus Show, featuring Paz the hockey acrobat; the Scotiabank Community Locker Room; the Dodge Family Zone; Tim Hortons Ball Hockey Rink; the Dr. Oetker Giuseppe Pizzeria; the Playmobil Kids Zone; and the OK Tire Zamboni Pit Stop.
