ALASKA, P.E.I. – The O'Leary Fire Department and West Prince RCMP responded to a brush fire in Alaska, P.E.I., just before 5 p.m. on July 11.
The brush fire turned out to be small and the fire department was able to extinguish the fire with minimal damage caused.
Police investigated and a male was arrested for arson and uttering threats to damage property.
He is scheduled to attend court in August.
The RCMP are reminding the public the weather has been dry this summer and brush fires could potentially get out of hand.
The province has a fire weather index and the public should check if there are bans in place here.
