P.E.I. woman pleads guilty to failing a breathalyzer

A 20-year-old P.E.I. woman was sentenced to three days in jail for failing a breathalyzer.

Ashley Lynn Drennan plead guilty before Chief Judge Nancy Orr in provincial court in Charlottetown May 17.

The court heard on March 16 at around 2 a.m., police pulled over a vehicle with an expired registration.

They observed Drennan demonstrating signs of alcohol consumption.

Drennan failed a breathalyzer after she provided breath samples more than the legal limit.

She had no prior criminal record.

In addition to incarceration, Dreenan must pay a $1,000 fine and $300 to the victims of crime fund.

She is also prohibited from driving for one year.
