When Kirk Myles Peterson cut off his electronic monitoring bracelet it wasn’t hard for the police to find him.
He waited for them to come arrest him.
Peterson, 54, was in provincial court before Judge John Douglas Monday where he pleaded guilty to damaging property.
Douglas sentenced him to 26 days in jail, but with credit for time served he had nothing left on his sentence.
The court heard that on Nov. 24, Charlottetown police responded after Peterson’s electronic monitoring bracelet was going off.
They met Peterson who said he was waiting for them to arrive because he cut the bracelet’s strap.
Peterson will get a new ankle bracelet with a strap that’s harder to cut and he has to pay $18 for the old one.
He will be on probation for three months and must pay a $200 victim surcharge.
