Charlottetown’s environment and sustainability committee says there are ways people can avoid receiving weekly flyers.

Mayor Clifford Lee recently raised concerns about excessive waste associated with weekly retail flyers delivered to homes and apartments.

If a resident doesn’t want to receive the bundle delivered by The Guardian’s carrier delivery service they can call the newspaper’s customer service line and remove their address from the delivery list.

If a resident doesn’t want to receive any advertising mail from Canada Post they can put a note on their mailbox stating that they no longer wish to receive Canada Post neighbourhood mail.
