Off federal parole eight days, then right back to jail for P.E.I. man

A P.E.I. man who was off parole for eight days when he committed one of his latest offences was sentenced recently to 10 months in jail. Cameron Geoffrey Dobson, 26, appeared before Chief Judge Nancy Orr in provincial court in Charlottetown for sentencing after previously pleading guilty to seven charges.

Those charges included assault, two counts of damaging property, two counts of possessing stolen property and possessing break-in tools.

He was also charged with breaching a court order.

Dobson has been in jail since his arrest in September, so Orr gave him credit of 160 days already served on his sentence.

Along with the jail time, Orr ordered Dobson to pay more than $4,000 in restitution and $700 in victim surcharges.

He will be on probation for two years after his release.
