No one will be facing charges after the RCMP finished their investigation into the province’s failed e-gaming scheme.
In a statement, RCMP Staff Sgt. Kevin Baillie said that after an extensive investigation there was no evidence of criminality or grounds to lay any charges.
“Our investigation into this matter has been concluded.”

The RCMP confirmed in October 2016 they received a complaint about the e-gaming file, which involved P.E.I.’s attempts to become an online gambling regulator for Canada.
In October 2016, Auditor General Jane MacAdam issued a report on e-gaming after finding inappropriate secrecy and other problems with the file.
That included the deletion of emails from government officials that should have been retained.
Baillie said the RCMP conducted more than 50 interviews as part of the investigation.
