Beti Andric has stepped down as Women’s Network P.E.I. chairwoman after eight years of being on the board of directors.
Andric joined the board in 2010 after having been involved as a volunteer with the organization and became the board chairwoman in 2013.
Andric said Women's Network P.E.I. has played a key role in moving the Island society in the direction of eventual gender equality.
“Serving on the board of directors of such an important organization has been an honour for me, and spending time with this fantastic group of women (was) a delight,’’ Andric said. “After eight years on the board and five years in the chair role, stepping down at this time feels good as I pass the torch to the new chair.’’
At the network’s 2018 annual general meeting, Judy Herlihy was elected as the new board chairwoman. Herlihy was serving as the vice-chairwoman and has been with the organization since 2013. As an accountant, she also retains the role as treasurer. She also sits on the board of the P.E.I. Coalition for Women in Government as treasurer and is a member of the Island feminist community.
Andric added she will stay involved with Women's Network in other roles as it continues its valuable work.
