Hockey P.E.I. is conducting a full investigation into an incident alleged to have occurred during a midget AA hockey game last Friday night in Sherwood.
Rob Newson, executive director of Hockey P.E.I., confirmed a West Prince coach has been suspended indefinitely pending a full investigation.
He said Hockey P.E.I. is in the process of gathering information but declined to provide details of what led to the investigation.
A fan, who was at the game, emailed The Guardian to say the West Prince coach is alleged to have left the ice surface and gone into the stands to confront a teenager.
That information could not be verified.
This comes to light a day after a front-page story in The Guardian revealed that a Nova Scotia minor hockey coach is accusing a P.E.I. game official of taunting his team and later attacking a player, prompting an RCMP investigation.

Mark Whidden, head coach of the Midget C Chebucto Chill, says he and three of his teenaged players have since been suspended indefinitely, pending completion of the Mounties' probe and a subsequent review by Hockey Nova Scotia.
The Halifax team, which includes players from 15 to 17 years old, was competing in Cornwall, P.E.I., on Feb. 20 when the Chill received what Whidden describes as an inordinate number of penalties in the first period.
One of the two linesmen was standing next to the Halifax team's bench when he made a series of sarcastic comments about the team's play, the coach says.
When one player told the linesman to "shut up," Whidden alleges the linesman lunged across the barrier, pushing the teenage player’s helmet against the player's face mask and swore.
The Guardian reached that linesman on Wednesday. He declined comment pending the outcome of the RCMP investigation.
This incident, between the Chebucto Chill and a P.E.I. team, is in no way connected to the events Hockey P.E.I. is investigating, which occurred last Friday during a midget AA hockey game.
