A man who was arrested Monday did the right thing by not driving drunk but the wrong thing by letting a 13-year-old girl drive instead.

Charlottetown police reported responding to a complaint about an erratic driver on Riverside Drive Monday night.

They found the suspect vehicle on St. Peters Road and while conducting a traffic stop discovered the driver was a 13-year-old girl.

The police reported that the 42-year-old vehicle owner was with her in the car but allegedly had been drinking and allowed the girl to drive.

He was arrested and spent the night in jail.

The man is facing charges under the Liquor Control Act and the Highway Traffic Act.
