For user safety, the Confederation Bridge has restricted certain classes of vehicles from crossing until the current high wind situation changes. Restricted classes include automobiles towing trailers, motorcycles, highsided vehicles including trucks, tractor trailers, recreational vehicles, and buses.
These latest bridge restrictions were put into place at 1:13 p.m., but the winds had earlier forced a complete closure to all traffic for a brief time. Winds range from 87 km/h to about 111 km/h in the south east direction.
The site-specific weather forecast received from RWDI (Rowan Williams Davies and Irwin) Weather Services today, indicates wind conditions could lead restrictions to last until around 5 p.m.
