Top five speed traps in Charlottetown

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - Charlottetown Police Services continues to crack down on speeders on the bypass highway.

According to statistics released by the city, a total of 44 speeding tickets were handed out in January on the bypass, between St. Peters Road and Brackley Point Road.

Coming in second place was North River Road by Queen Charlotte school. Police issued 15 speeding tickets in January.

In third place is University Avenue by Enman Crescent where 14 tickets were handed out.

In fourth place, St. Peters Road by MacWilliams Road in East Royalty where nine tickets were issued.

There was a tie for the fifth location where tickets were handed out.

Police handed out seven speeding violations on Brackley Point Road near MacAleer Drive and on University Avenue by McKinnon Road.
