CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - It didn't pay to speed on Fourth Street in Charlottetown during May.

Located in the West Royalty Industrial Park, city police nabbed 11 motorists over a one-month period, more than any other location in Charlottetown in May.

Coming in second was Lower Malpeque Road by Highfield Park. Police issued 10 speeding tickets in that location.

There was a tie for third place in the top five speeding zones, whose locations indicate that police are keeping an eye on school zones in the city.

Nine speeding tickets were handed out on North River Road by Queen Charlotte Intermediate School and on University Avenue by Enman Crescent, near Charlottetown Rural High School.

In fourth place was St. Peters Road by MacWilliams Road where L.M. Montgomery Elementary School is located where six speeding tickets were issued.

There was a tie for fifth place between University Avenue at McKinnon Road, near the UPEI entrance, and on the arterial highway between Brackley Point Road and St. Peters Road. In both cases, five speeding tickets were issued.
