Angela Mae Mullins appeared before Chief Judge Nancy Orr recently and was sentenced to 15 days in jail following the theft from Sobeys in Stratford this past January.

RCMP received a call after store employees saw two women each pushing a shopping cart, with a man walking ahead of them, leave the store without paying for the carts full of food.

Police were able to identify both women after watching the store video footage.

Mullins has a prior related record.

Defense attorney Yolande Murphy said Mullins relapsed during the time of this offence but has since cleaned up her act and is now following the rules of the methadone program.

In addition to jail time, Mullins is on 12 months probation and is to refrain having contact with the co-accused.

She is also barred from Sobeys during the period of her probation, has to pay $200 in restitution and must write a letter of apology to the store manager.
