The creativity and talent of some young P.E.I. scientists will be on display Wednesday.
More than 210 students from 27 Island schools will present projects during the 2018 P.E.I. Science Fair being held in the Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre at UPEI.
The event will see more than 80 volunteers judge 152 science projects, which will include innovations in renewable energy, climate adaptation, agriculture, aquaculture, drug discovery, health and well-being.
There will be more than $15,000 in prizes and awards handed out by 45 community partner organizations that annually support the fair.
Five students from Grades 7 to 12 will also be selected to represent P.E.I. at the 2018 Canada Wide Science Fair in Ottawa this May, where more than $1 million in prizes and scholarships will be awarded.
The event is open for the public, 3-4 p.m., with an awards ceremony set for 4-4:45 p.m.
Organizers noted the P.E.I. science fair program is a strong community partnership with hundreds of volunteers who give time and energy to support learning.
