CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - A Charlottetown high school teacher facing multiple charges stemming from alleged criminal sexual behaviour will need to wait until March 1 to learn when his case goes to trial.

A trial date was to be set Thursday but more time is needed to find a suitable date.

Last week through his lawyer, Roger James Jabbour elected trial with a provincial court judge.

There will, in fact, be two trials, one following right after the other.

The first trial will deal with eight counts – three sexual assault charges, three sexual interference charges and two sexual exploitation charges – arising from three complainants coming forward.

The second trial will deal with two counts of sexual exploitation arising from a fourth complainant.

All four complainants are female and all were under the age of 18 at the time of the alleged offences. Three were younger than 16 at the time of the alleged offences.

None of the charges have been proven in court.

Jabbour was released on an undertaking in September. He has been on leave from Colonel Gray High School in Charlottetown for several months.
