SUMMERSIDE - A 37-year old man is facing multiple charges of theft following a brief chase by Summerside Police Service.

At around 11 a.m. on Friday, police received a call from a person reporting that their cellular phone and a diaper bag were stolen from their vehicle while they were shopping.

The suspect was identified as Joshua Joseph Jesso.

Jesso was located shortly after and was arrested following a brief foot chase with police.

At the time of his arrest, police allege he was in possession of stolen property from two Granville Street stores.

Jesso had already been wanted by police for another theft from a vehicle that occurred on Aug. 23. He was charged with four counts of theft and remanded into custody until Sept. 4.
