The only work to take place Victoria Day Monday will be on the North River causeway bridge.

This coming week, excavation and placement of new material will begin on the new roundabout at the North River intersection.

Temporary travel lanes will be built around the intersection that will be used to help traffic navigate the site during the construction period.

Water main work will be ongoing at the North River intersection, along with improvements to the North River bridge.

Two lanes of traffic will be maintained during the morning and evening commute periods (eastbound from 7:30-9 a.m. and westbound from 4-5:30 p.m.) on the Trans Canada Highway.

Drivers are advised to consider using alternative routes when entering and leaving Charlottetown, especially during morning and evening commuting hours.

Motorists are also asked to be alert and to operate with concern for the safety of workers, pedestrians and other drivers.
