CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - A 26-year-old man who made sexually explicit comments to two teenage girls and a 60-year-old woman at Victoria Park in Charlottetown was sentenced Monday to 10 days in jail.

Wyatt Stirton Douglas appeared in provincial court in Charlottetown where he pleaded guilty to two counts of causing a disturbance.

Crown attorney Nathan Beck told the court the charges stemmed from separate incidents, the first of which was on July 5 when Douglas approached two 16-year-old girls who were having a picnic.

The girls told police a male approached them and asked if either of the teens was 18.

Beck said the girls reported that Douglas made sexually explicit comments to them, which he continued for several minutes before walking away.

On July 7, Douglas approached a 60-year-old woman who was sitting in her car after going for a walk in Victoria Park.

Beck said Douglas approached the woman’s window and asked if she would like to perform sexual activities with him.

The woman contacted the police, who later received a call from the Confederation Centre of the Arts about Douglas loitering nearby.

Beck said Douglas has been given several trespass notices.

Judge John Douglas gave the accused credit for 10 days spent in custody since his arrest and placed him on probation for one year with conditions that included no contact with the victims.

He is also banned from Victoria Park, Victoria Row and Confederation Landing Park in Charlottetown.
