A Springvale man who was drunk while he was sitting in his car in a parking lot was recently sentenced to three days in jail.
Steven Joseph Flynn, 37, appeared in provincial court before Chief Judge Nancy Orr where he pleaded guilty to having care and control of a vehicle while drunk.
On Nov. 14, 2015, an RCMP officer on patrol in North Milton saw two vehicles in the parking lot of a community centre that was closed.
While the officer was on the radio with dispatch, Flynn got out of one of the vehicles.
The officer noticed a smell of alcohol on his breath and Flynn later gave breathalyzer readings that were almost double the legal limit.
Along with the jail time, Flynn will have to pay a $1,000 fine and $300 victim surcharge.
He is also banned from driving for one year.
