Police received a call around 1 a.m. Thursday of a suspected impaired driver operating a Chevrolet truck near the Water Street Motel.

Police located the vehicle and stopped it as it was returning to the motel.

Police spoke with the driver, a 32-year-old Nova Scotia man, and found he was exhibiting signs of impairment.

The man was arrested, then refused to provide breath samples.

Police learned that the man is under a Canada-wide driving prohibition and was also under a Nova Scotia court order not to consume alcohol.
