A 27-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault and breach of an undertaking after being located by police in downtown Charlottetown Aug. 17.
Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a man being assaulted on Fitzroy Street where the suspect had fled in a red minivan.
In a news release, police said the victim sustained minor injuries from the sudden assault by a man who was unknown to him.
The incident began moments earlier when the suspect drove past the victim at an intersection and began yelling at him about looking both ways.
Both parties yelled at each other while the van drove away.
Soon after, the van returned and the suspect got out of the vehicle and began assaulting the man.
The suspect fled the area in his vehicle and was located on Great George street a short time later, where he was arrested at the scene.
The man was charged, spent the night in jail and was released on conditions.
He will appear in provincial court on Aug. 23.
