Charlottetown couple Jim and Barbara Munves attended a performance by the P.E.I. Symphony at Zion Presbyterian Church on the weekend.
It was the couple’s first time together outside of the Atlantic Baptist Home since Barbara, who suffers from dementia, was admitted in January.
But more may soon follow. Jim, who has been fighting the province to bring his wife home, found out in Supreme Court on Tuesday that she will be permitted to return to their home later this week under the conditions that there will be unannounced visits by adult protection workers and that a caregiver will go with the couple on outings.
Jim says he was “troubled” a caregiver has to always be with the couple, describing the condition as intrusive.
