A 70-year-old man who was essentially under house arrest will spend 30 days in jail for breaking his conditional sentence order.

Provincial court Judge Jeff Lantz told John Wayne Casford the court orders are expected to be followed.

Casford broke the order by attending an establishment in Charlottetown to bet on video lottery terminals.

He will complete his original 18-month conditional sentence upon release from jail.
