The P.E.I. Marathon is partnering with The Guardian and Sobeys Extra for a free kids event during the 2018 edition of the long-distance running weekend.
Formerly known as the Kids Spud Run, the 2018 event will have a new name and logo. That’s where Guardian readers come in.
Those who would like to design the logo – either as individuals or as a family – can put their creativity to the test and submit the artwork to The Guardian for consideration. Likewise, anyone who as a suggestion for a name for the new event can send that along to the P.E.I. Marathon.
“With having new partners, we feel it is the perfect time to rebrand the former Kids Spud Run and create a new logo and name for this fun kids’ event,” said P.E.I. Marathon race director Myrtle Jenkins-Smith.
Winners of both contests will each receive a great prize package.
To submit a name for the naming contest prize, email the entry to [email protected] and include a name, address, phone number, email address and age.
To submit an entry for the logo design prize, drop the completed design and form in the box at the front desk of The Guardian office or scan it to a PDF format and email [email protected].
All entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. Aug. 31. Winners will be announced at a press conference in early September at the Sobeys Extra Community Room in Stratford. Additional details will be posted in upcoming editions of The Guardian and at Theguardian.pe.ca.
