CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - It’s going to be a little cheaper to fill up at the pumps this weekend with the price of gas dropping 2.9 cents per litre.

The Island and Regulatory and Appeals Commission (IRAC) announced the change which will drop the price for unleaded gasoline at self-serve outlets to range from 124.9 cents per litre to 126 cents per litre.

IRAC also announced the price of furnace and stove oil will increase by 2 cents per litre to a maximum of 96.3 cents per litre, plus tax.

There will be no change to the price of diesel.

Propane prices will increase by 2.4 cents per litre for Superior Propane, by 2.6 cents per litre for Kenmac Energy Inc. and by 3.5 cents per litre for Irving Distribution and Marketing.

IRAC said changes in wholesale pricing over the past two weeks account for the price adjustments.

The next scheduled price adjustment will be on Oct. 1.
