Gas prices have dropped by 2.1 cents per litre (cpl) after the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission’s mid-month petroleum price adjustments went into effect after midnight.

Including adjustments for taxes, pump prices for regular, unleaded gasoline at self-serve outlets now range from 125.9 cpl to 127.1 cpl.

In the same decision, propane prices increased by 0.6 cents per litre for Superior Propane, by 1.2 cpl for Irving Energy Distribution and Marketing and remain unchanged for Kenmac Energy Inc. Maximum, before-tax propane prices now range from 80.0 cpl to 80.8 cpl.

There was no change in the price of furnace oil, stove oil or diesel. Diesel prices will continue to range from 132.3 cpl to 133.4 cpl. The maximum price for furnace oil will continue to be 94.3 cpl, plus tax.

The commission’s next scheduled price adjustment will be on Sept. 1.
