Collicutt is charged dangerous driving causing the death of Dorothy Mae Mayhew, 67, of Lady Fane on Oct. 9, 2015.

The trial is expected to take all week.

So far today there have been two witnesses on the stand.

The first was RCMP Const. Daniel Comte, who was the first officer on the scene of the crash.

The second witness, whose testimony will continue this afternoon, was RCMP Const. Paul Landry, the lead investigator in the case.

Comte told the court about his arrival on the scene, how he canvassed people at the scene looking for witnesses to the crash, and how he took photos of the scene before it was disturbed too much.

Landry is in the midst of being cross-examined by Collicutt’s lawyer, Peter Ghiz, and has so far testified about the overall investigation into the crash and his own observations after arriving on the scene.

The trial resumes at 1:30 p.m.
