A small fire in the basement of an abandoned home in Charlottetown drew firefighters and police quickly to the scene.
The home is across from Fair Isle Ford and beside another property being cleared for development. Both properties are beside Scotiabank.
"An empty building, not sure of the cause yet," said Tim Mamye, deputy fire chief of the Charlottetown Fire Department.
He said the fire was quickly extinguished.
"From what I understand, (the home) is scheduled to be demolished in the near future," said Mamye.
A garage on the property next door is in the process of being hauled off the site, with crews working the area just an hour or two before the fire.
Residents in Park Royal Court seniors complex adjacent to the back of the properties were out watching, saying that development of the land is clearly underway but no one has told them what is going to be built on the site.
On March 29 this year, an abandoned building, a former driving range clubhouse on Mount Edward Road was the scene of a fatal fire that killed three young people who had broken into the structure.
"No sign of anyone in the building," said Mamye of Tuesday's fire.
