Charlottetown police were nabbing speeders on University Avenue during the month of February.

The busiest spot, in terms of catching offenders, was where the avenue connects with MacKinnon Road, just across from UPEI, where police handed out 17 speeding tickets.

University Avenue was certainly a busy spot as it also comes in second. Police handed out 13 speeding tickets where the avenue connects with Enman Crescent.

There was a tie for third place.

A total of 11 tickets were handed out on St. Peters Road where it meets MacWilliams Road (out by Mel’s convenience store). Eleven tickets were also handed out on the Charlottetown bypass highway between St. Peters Road and Brackley Point Road.

There was also a tie for fourth place. Eight speeding tickets were handed out on North River Road by Inkerman Drive, across from Queen Charlotte Intermediate School.

Eight tickets were also handed out on Pine Drive/Maple Avenue, in the area of Sherwood Elementary School.

Rounding out the top five were North River Road at Sidmount Avenue, Allen Street and Brackley Point Road at MacAleer Drive. Police handed out six tickets each in February in those locations.
