Chamber of commerce celebrates businesses at awards ceremony in Charlottetown

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - It was a time to celebrate Island businesses as the Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce held its annual awards ceremony last night.

The Gahan House Pub won this year’s excellence in business award, which the chamber said recognizes excellence in all areas of their business operations.

Online Support founder and current iWave Information Systems CEO Jamie Hill was this year’s entrepreneur of the year.

Peter Mullins, who has been a volunteer with the chamber for more than 10 years, was the volunteer of the year.

The not-for-profit excellence award went to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation.

P.E.I. Brewing Company won this year’s excellence in export award.

The chamber awarded Upstreet Brewery the retail excellence award.

Canada’s Island Garden won the emerging business award.

Grant Thornton LLP was given the workplace excellence award.
