Build a Better Home event set for Tuesday in Summerside

SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. - The third in a series of discussions on how to design energy efficient homes will be held in Summerside on Tuesday.

The Build a Better Home event begins at 7 p.m. in the Empire Room of the Loyalist Country Inn.

Energy efficient homes conserve energy, cost less to operate, reduce environmental impact and save money.

The panel of experts will include Andy Collier, energy program officer at efficiencyPEI; David Carmichael, horticulture technician at P.E.I. Forests, Fish and Wildlife; Andrew Swingler, professor at UPEI’s School of Sustainable Design Engineering; and Greg Gaudet, director of municipal affairs with the City of Summerside.

The panel will focus on saving energy and minimizing environmental impacts through design, energy efficiency, landscaping and solar energy.
