The Atlantic String Machine took home the Music P.E.I. Award for Achievement in Jazz or Classical on Saturday night.
The band was given the award at the Florence Simmons Hall during the first ever classical concert hosted by Music P.E.I.
"The opportunity to partner with the P.E.I. Symphony Orchestra to deliver our first ever classical concert as part of the May Run Music Festival was a dream come true," said Music P.E.I. executive director Rob Oakie. "The music industry on P.E.I. is diverse and continues to grow and evolve every year. It is very exciting."
The Atlantic String Machine is a five piece group which formed last April and plays a diverse mix of classical, jazz, pop and world music.
Members include Sean Kemp, Louis Garson, Natalie Williams Calhoun, Jeffrey Bazett-Jones and Karen Graves.
The May Run Music Festival will continue Sunday afternoon with 24 awards being handed out at the newly created Music P.E.I. Awards Party.
The final two awards, Group Recording and Album of the Year, will be presented during the closing concert at the Delta P.E.I. Convention Centre Sunday night.
