Visitors are invited to roam the grounds of the potato farm, viewing antique farm machinery, trucks, tractors and cars, stationary engines and lots more.
There will also be a silent auction, bake sale, 50/50 draw and live entertainment, featuring Cameron Francis and Juliette Roberts, Olivia Roberts, Not All There and Roberts Academy of Dance.
Pizza and Cavendish Farm fries will be available for purchase.
“This event has become an annual tradition for our farm and community,” said Peter Roberts, farm co-owner and event organizer. “We are looking forward to welcoming new visitors and proud to support two Island organizations.”
Proceeds will benefit Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada, Prince Edward Island Chapter and Open Door Outreach.
The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada, P.E.I. chapter is currently working on granting wishes 18 to Island children. The foundation grants wishes to children between the ages of three and 17 who have been diagnosed with a high-risk, life-threatening illnesses. Wishes help sick children and families during challenging times, providing a distraction during the emotional and physical stress of their illness, improving family cohesion, and inspiring wish children in long-lasting ways.
“We are very grateful to the Roberts family for choosing Children’s Wish as one of the beneficiaries of this year’s event,” said Beth Corney Gauthier, provincial director of the Children’s Wish Foundation, P.E.I. chapter.
“The funds raised at this event will touch the hearts of wish families in a very special way. By making this donation, you are telling families you understand what their brave children are going through and you care about the wishes they are making.”
Open Door Outreach is a charitable organization dedicated to supporting incarcerated women. Its unique programs at the Provincial Correctional Centre include weekly Chapel services, group and individual Bible discussions and group mediation. It also helps women transition back to their communities with backpacks of personal hygiene products and emergency clothing.
Admission to the show is by donation.The farm is located at 5529 Route 225, Kinkora.
The rain date is Sunday, Aug. 13, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
