Alleged assault with baseball bat early today in Charlottetown

Charlottetown Police Services received a 911 call early Friday, around 12:30 a.m., about an alleged assault underway.

The complainant told officers that a man approached him at his residence and threatened him while brandishing a bat.

Both men knew each other and there was no injury resulting from the incident, says a police report.

Police went on to arrest a 26-year-old resident of Charlottetown and will prepare a charge against him of assault with a weapon.

The accused man will be appearing in Provincial Court at a later date.

This is the second alleged attack with a bat this month.

Not only baseball bats are in use as weapons in Charlottetown recently.

This week there two reports of alleged assaults with a knife.
