An Island aviation company is now working with Bombardier to supply authorized parts for aircraft that were formerly known as the Dash series.

Now called the Q series, the propeller-driven regional passenger aircraft are in daily use in Atlantic Canada and around the world.

Under the agreement, Bombardier provides engineering specifications to assist 3 Points Aviation to gain Parts Manufacture Approvals from government aviation regulators.

It would allow owners of Q-series aircraft to buy either Original Equipment Manufacturer parts, or the parts soon to be made by 3 Points Aviation.

This will improve the overall part availability for Bombardier’s Q Series aircraft because owners can choose the significantly less expensive, but approved, parts made by the P.E.I. company, said an announcement issued Wednesday.

“3 Points is excited to be collaborating with Bombardier for the mutual support of Q Series aircraft operators and the availability of the resulting PMA parts is a game changer,” said John Druken, CEO, 3 Points Aviation. “This collaboration between 3 Points and a progressive OEM like Bombardier is key to our continued success.”

3 Points Aviation is a Transport-Canada-approved parts manufacturer and is already an approved supplier of maintenance, repair and overhaul services to Bombardier’s customers.
