At 4 a.m. last Monday, July 10, Montague RCMP responded to a break, enter and theft in progress at Jay's Grocery Store in Morell.

Local residents had heard glass breaking in the vicinity of the front door. A resident going to the store to see what was happening came upon a young man attempting to steal cigarettes from inside the store. The youth was able to get away from the witness, and run from scene.

Kings District RCMP was able to identify a 17-year-old teen from the Mt. Stewart area as the suspect. He was arrested and will appear in court later this month in Georgetown to faces charges of break and enter to commit theft.
