Police arrest man who allegedly punched a woman outside a bar

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - Charlottetown police arrested a 22-year-old man Saturday after he allegedly punched a woman outside a bar.

A report said the police responded to a complaint at 1:03 a.m. after a woman alleged the man punched her in the facial area while she was standing outside a bar on Kent Street.

The police arrested the man who is facing an assault charge.

He was jailed at the Provincial Correctional Centre and will appear in court at a later date.
