CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - Canadian Blood Services is asking residents to donate following recent weather conditions, which have forced the unexpected cancellation of nine clinics across the region this week.

To make up for lost collections, national reserves are being used to ensure local patient needs continue to be met.

Canadian Blood Services asks area residents to help replenish supplies by booking an appointment, if it is safe to do so.

People in the Charlottetown area can donate by visiting the Charlottetown Blood Donor Clinic at 85 Fitzroy St.

To book an appointment, locate a clinic and check eligibility, use the Give Blood App or visit blood.ca.

Charlottetown clinic hours:

Tuesday and Thursday: 3-7 p.m.

Wednesday: 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

Friday: 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
