Alberta man wanted by police there arrested in Summerside

Albertra man wanted by police

SUMMERSIDE - A  man wanted by police in Alberta  for  a series of offences was arrested by police in Summerside this week.

Shortly after 11am Tuesday morning  Summerside Police responded to a report of a possible impaired driver at a Water Street motel. 

Police attended and located the driver, a 25 year old Alberta man, who was not impaired. 

The man initially provided a false name to police and was subsequently arrested on obstruction charges.  

Police later learned that the man was subject to several court orders to remain in the province of Alberta. 

He was charged with four counts of failing to abide by an undertaking and one charge of obstruction.

He was lodged in jail and later pleaded guilty to several offences and received 30 days in custody.
