This is an artist's conception of the development planned for Stanley Bridge.

The Stanley Bridge Harbour Authority is getting some significant public funding to help develop its property.

The project will receive a total of $900,000 from the federal and provincial governments and the authority will contribute about $100,000 of its own money.

The goal is to expand the picturesque harbour’s capacity by adding floating docks for pleasure craft, as well as a service centre for them, in addition to building retail space.

The authority also recently completed the redevelopment of the breakwater, though that project was not included in this pot of funding.
