Gas prices are going up across P.E.I.

Gas going up one cent, propane up three cents, IRAC rules

The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission is allowing gasoline prices to go up by one cent.

"Recent increases observed in the wholesale price of both gasoline and propane now require the price adjustments announced today," the commission said in its March 1 ruling.

Propane prices will increase by just over three cents per litre.

"There will be no change in furnace, stove oil or diesel prices," the commission report said.

As a result of the increase, regular gasoline at self-serve pumps will now range between 85 to 86.2 cents per litre.

Propane prices will now range from 69 to 71.3 cents per litre.

"The maximum price for furnace oil will continue to amount to 69.6 cents per litre, plus tax," said the commission.

The next scheduled price adjustment will be on March 15.
