Ling assault case adjourned

A P.E.I. woman who allegedly assaulted someone who was involved in a motor vehicle accident with her had her case adjourned recently in provincial court.

Chelsea Meara Ling, 29, appeared before Judge John Douglas Feb. 19 in Charlottetown where she asked for an adjournment.

Ling, who had been self-represented during previous court appearances, told the court she had since hired a lawyer and asked for more time before entering a plea.

The court also heard there was a problem with the disclosure from the Crown.

Douglas adjourned the case until March 3.

Ling is the owner of Papercakes Pretty nail salon and boutique in Charlottetown.

She recently launched a GoFundMe campaign trying to raise $5,000 she said she needs to keep her business afloat.
