West Prince RCMP arrested a 40-year-old woman after she allegedly hit a tree while driving drunk.

On Jan. 5 at about 7:20 p.m., the RCMP responded to a 911 call of an impaired driver who hit a tree on private property in West Cape.

The vehicle got back on the road and left the area.

After conducting patrols in the area, the RCMP located the vehicle and arrested the driver.

Breathalyzer samples given at the detachment allegedly showed the driver’s blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit.

She was later released and will appear in provincial court in Summerside in March.
