Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for P.E.I saying winds gusting to 90 km/h Monday morning are expected.

“An intense trough of low pressure will cross Prince Edward Island Monday morning. Strong southeasterly winds gusting to 90 km/h will develop ahead of the trough then diminish as it passes,” states Environment Canada in a special weather alert issued Sunday.

It says that damage to buildings such as roof shingles and windows may occur. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.
