Fundraising has begun for a man seriously injured in a double shooting early Christmas morning in Pleasant Grove.

More than $3,300 has been raised in the couple days since 23-year-old Brodie Mcquaid was shot.

Vanessa Cheverie created the gofundme site for her friend Mcquaid to help alleviate financial stress to the victim and his family.

Cheverie notes on the site that Mcquaid is still unable to move his arm and "without a doubt he has a long road ahead of him.''

A 28-year-old man was also injured by gun shot, but he was treated and released from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlotteotwn.

Mcquaid was transported to Halifax by helicopter for treatment. He remains in hospital.

Police have charged Matthew Brian Misener, 30, of Pleasant Grove with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of careless use of a firearm in connection to the shooting.

Misener is scheduled to appear in provincial court in Charlottetown Wednesday for a show cause hearing.
