Laurie Ann Jeffery and Jamie Betton of Summerside had lots to be grateful for this holiday season as their son Connor Jamie Betton was born Christmas Day.

Jeffery went into labour the afternoon of Christmas Eve and gave birth to a healthy baby boy at 10:43 Christmas morning weighing six pounds and 13 ounces.

“It is pretty exciting,” said Jeffery.” I never really expected him to arrive on that day.”

Jeffery said she was a few days early and figured Connor was going to be a 2016 baby.

“’I thought he was going to be the first week of January because I didn’t feel anything was happening or progressing so I thought he was pretty content in there.”

Jeffery felt so great that she worked up until Dec. 23.

“I was kind of on the fence whether or not I was going to go back to work Tuesday after the holidays, but I guess I won’t be doing that now,” Jeffery said with a laugh.

Jeffery said she had a perfect pregnancy with no issues whatsoever. The first time Mom didn't even have morning sickness.

The hardest part of it all was picking out Connor’s name. They debated naming their boy Porter or Cooper but came up with this one after he was born.

“We just really liked it and we didn’t know anybody else that had that name.”

Jeffery said overall she is feeling really good and plans to head home with Connor on Dec. 28.
