Charlottetown Police Services lays two charges of impaired driving this past Sunday

Charlottetown Police Services got word of an impaired driver early Sunday and tracked down the drunk driver.

The call came in Sunday at 3:19 a.m., of a possible impaired driver on Capitol Drive near North River Road.

A patrol of the area located the suspect vehicle, and police arrested the male driver.

The accused male, a 34-year-old resident of Mt. Stewart, will be appearing in provincial court at a later date.

Erratic driving draws police attention

Charlottetown Police Services officers were conducting a routine patrol Sunday on St. Peters Road near MacRae Drive when a vehicle was seen being operated in an erratic manner.

Police checked the vehicle and determined the driver, a 43-year-old resident of Suffolk, was impaired.

The driver was arrested and will be appearing in provincial court at a later date.
