It was a short run for Brooklyn after Olivia knocked it out of the top spot on the list of the most popular baby names in P.E.I. this year.

For the boys, Jack reigned supreme taking over the top spot from Liam, which had been the most popular boys' name in the province for three years in a row.

Every baby born in P.E.I. is registered with the provincial vital statistics office, which provided a list of the most popular names up to November.

P.E.I. had 12 Jacks this year with Oliver and Owen next on the list at 10 each.

Olivia, which was also the most popular name for girls across the country, topped the list with 10 babies followed by nine Chloes.

When it came to last year's most popular names there were five Liams, which was the top name in the country, three Brooklyns and three Brooklynns in 2014.

Nostalgia during the 75th anniversary of Gone With the Wind might have led to the two Rhetts named this year after not appearing on the list at all in 2013.

Some traditional spellings seem to be falling by the wayside as the six Jaxons edged out the three boys with the more familiar spelling, Jackson.
